The Sterling Alaska Railroad "Just Me" page
In the spring of 1978 when we moved back to Alaska from our 2 year road trip I started taking photos of the ARR. While I have tons of pictures of the trains there are only a few of me. This page is of a railnut captured doing the best he could. When this first photo was taken I would of been 14 years old when it was taken by my brother. The second photo was on summer break between my freshman and sophomore years of high school. In the third photo I had just turned 16 several months before. In the fourth photo I was still 16 just a few months from my 17th birthday yet.

My brother Jim took this photo of me some time in the spring or summer of 1978. Judging from where I am at and of course taking a photo near the tracks, it was probably of the Whittier Shuttle at the Anchorage depot. This was actually a 110 slide film from a instamatic!

Me on 3008 at the Anchorage depot August 22,1979 - The engineer insisted on taking my picture for me and insisted it would be a better photo if I was on the locomotive.
Thanks!

Me at the engineers window of 3014 at the Anchorage passenger station during the 1980 Alaska Railroad open house display

Me in the cab of 1502 on May 9, 1981 - Gary Munsey took this photo of me when we got a tour of the engine house. I wonder what I was thinking then.....was probably just trying to look cool.
