The Sterling Alaska Railroad Steam Locomotive page

One day in 1979 while my brother and I were at the Anchorage passenger station taking photos of the passenger train an elderly (to us at that time) gentleman approached us and wanted to show us some pictures that he had taken while he was stationed in Anchorage in the Army during World War 2. He told us a little about the time he spent taking photos with his box camera of the ARR in 1945, and told us that we were doing the same thing he used to do. He then surprised us and gave us "the best of his ARR pictures that he took back then" and then hurried to get on the train for his trip. His name was Clayton C Tinkham, and these are the Alaska Railroad steam locomotive photos that he gave to my brother and I.
