The Sterling Alaska Railroad GP-40  page

The Alaska Railroads GP-40-2's began arriving in 1975 as #'s 3000 - 3005. 3000 was renumbered to 3006 soon after arriving to the ARR. In 1976 # 3007 - 3011 came to Alaska. 3000-3011 were all originally painted in the black with yellow Whiskers paint scheme. In 1978 #3012 - 3015 arrived and were in the blue/yellow ALASKA paint scheme. In 1983 five GP40's were purchased from Conrail and numbered 3016 - 3020
